SupafastTech LLC ("we", "our", or "us") operates Linguin, an AI-powered translation application available on macOS, iOS, and as a Chrome extension (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Text You Submit for Translation

When you use Linguin to translate text, that text is transmitted to our translation providers to generate a result. We do not store or log the content of your translations. Translation requests are processed in real time and discarded immediately after delivery.

Language Preferences

We store your selected source and target languages locally on your device to provide a better experience. This data never leaves your device.

Device and Usage Information

We may collect basic technical information to operate and improve the App, including:

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• Crash reports and error logs (anonymised)
• Aggregate feature usage statistics (e.g., how often voice translation is used)

This information does not identify you personally and is used solely to improve reliability and performance.

Account Information

If you create an account or subscribe to Linguin Pro, we collect the email address associated with your Apple ID or purchase, managed through Apple's in-app purchase infrastructure.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To deliver translation results in real time
• To diagnose crashes and fix bugs
• To understand aggregate usage patterns and prioritise features
• To respond to support enquiries you initiate

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

Linguin uses the following third-party APIs to provide translation functionality. Your translation input is sent to these services:

• Google Cloud Translation API — used for certain language pairs. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
• DeepSeek API — used for AI-enhanced translations and contextual understanding. DeepSeek's privacy policy applies.

We select providers that process data under strict security and confidentiality obligations. We do not authorise them to use your data for any purpose other than providing the translation service.

4. Data Retention

Translation texts are not stored by Linguin. Device and usage analytics are retained in aggregate, anonymised form for up to 12 months. Account information is retained for as long as you use the app and deleted upon request.

5. Cookies and Tracking

The Linguin website (linguin.app) uses minimal, strictly necessary cookies to operate correctly. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The Chrome extension does not set cookies in your browser.

6. Children's Privacy

Linguin is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to certain types of processing
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; however, we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
